Isaac Newton's once asked a brilliant and thought provoking question, "why does an apple fall from a tree." Perspective ask the brilliant and thought provoking question "why does so much crap fall from the media." Click! Click! I have the answer. It is a result of, click, click.
What do I mean by "click, click"? Most media produced is now for the purpose of clicking. Whether it be for clicking on a hashtag, clicking on a search result, clicking on an ad, clicking on the Facebook like button, clicktivism (the act where people sign a petition simply by clicking not signing), etc. Now, there is nothing wrong with wanting people to click on a hashtag, click on a Facebook share button, or even click on an ad. Yet, for something to be written for the sole purpose of boosting SEO or for clicking is pathetic. Perspective wants to spread awareness to the general public about general topic matters.
Nowadays, there is little motivation for people to be inspired to produce literature or works of fiction. Yet, fiction does not mean producing false information. Without fiction we might have slavery. It is widely believed the US Civil War was started when Harriet Beecher Stowe published the novel, Uncle Tom's Cabin. The story was fiction yet the background behind the story was real. The reader's knew that. Upton Sinclair wrote the novel, The Jungle, to raise concerns about worker's rights, the American meatpacking industry, and food safety. And it worked. A more recent example is when James Cameron spread awareness about environmentalism through his film, Avatar.
Unlike the 1800's and the early 1900's the way to reach out to the general public does not need to be in the form of writing a long novel. Considering that most people do not dedicate a lot of time towards reading. Which is why Perspective aims to produce content that is very short and simple, and content that is also visual. Remember, the average person's attention span is only 7 seconds. Which is why Perspective realizes that it is important for people to feel inspired to research with short content. As it is a better alternative to getting people to dedicate their time for reading. As giving people a need to want to research and ask around for more information is something that is based on the need for people to seek the truth. Not based on providing the need for convenience.
